Abstract

DC60 (26/10/42) Containers for storing various items, such as consumables, are constructed with side walls that incorporate a single, transparent window panel. This can be achieved by using a transparent, tinted container and a window with a reduced thickness and/or a smooth surface, while the rest of the side wall has a textured, opaque surface. A lid may be used to cover the container and create a hermetically sealed seal. The lid may include a pivot pin allowing it to be rotated to a loosening position for easy opening. A pouring spout may also be used with the container. The pouring spout is fitted onto the opening of the container and consists of a main spout and two spout tips with pouring guides to help redirect any spills back into the container. A hinged dispensing fitting allows the first section to remain in position while the second section folds underneath. The second section may be fixed in this position, creating an opening for stacking. Containers for storing various items, such as consumables, may incorporate side walls with integrated windows that are more transparent than the rest of the side walls. This can be achieved by using a transparent, tinted material for the container, reducing the thickness of the window, and/or smoothing the window surface while the rest of the side walls have a textured, opaque surface. A lid may be used to cover the container and create a hermetically sealed seal. The lid may have a pivot pin allowing it to be rotated to a loosening position for easy opening. A dispensing fitting may also be used in conjunction with the container. The dispensing fitting is attached to the container. It fits into the opening of the container and consists of a main spout and two spout ends containing pouring guides to help return any overflow back into the container. A hinged insert for pouring keeps the first section in place while the second section folds down underneath. The second section can be secured in this position to create an opening for stacking.

Claims (3)

1. A storage container consisting of: - a bottom wall with a perimeter border; - side walls extending upwards from the aforementioned perimeter border to the top edge, made of a transparent, stained material. The bottom and side walls together form an interior space capable of holding the product; and at least one window enclosed within the side wall, with a thickness less than the thickness of the rest of the side wall. 2. Storage container with lid, comprising: the storage container itself, consisting of a bottom wall with a perimeter and side walls extending upwards from the perimeter to the top edge; the lid itself, consisting of a top wall with a perimeter and a bottom edge extending downwards from the perimeter of the top wall. The perimeter and bottom edges of the top wall are sized and shaped to fit snugly around the top edge when the lid is fitted, covering the sealing rim of the side wall or any part of the top edge; and at least one pair of pivot pins extending downwards from the top wall at intervals along the perimeter, which engage with the top edge when the lid is fitted, resulting in a gap between the top wall and the top edge. 3. Storage container with pouring mechanism, comprising the storage container itself, which includes a bottom wall with a perimeter section and side walls extending upwards from the perimeter to the top edge and a fitting edge, which is confined to the inner surface of the side wall in the area adjacent to the top edge. The pouring mechanism, comprising a main panel with a perimeter section and a fitting edge extending downwards from the perimeter of the main panel, the perimeter section of the main panel and the fitting edge are sized and shaped to fit snugly within the fitting edge when the pouring mechanism is in the working position. The pouring mechanism shall include at least one spout end extending through it and shall also include a hinge separating the main panel into a first and second section, with the second section being able to rotate manually around the hinge. Between the first position, the second segment extends from the first segment and lies in the same plane as the second position, which is parallel to and beneath the first segment.
