This method consists of: a) Providing a continuous, interconnected absorbent membrane structure, where each absorbent membrane defines the boundaries of the outer surface, the inner surface opposite to the outer surface, a pair of opposing lateral edges, and a pair of opposing longitudinal waist edges; b) Permanently attaching a pair of opposing lateral back panels to the lateral edges of each absorbent membrane structure in one area of the front or back waist area to create a permanent connection point; c) Attaching a pair of opposing lateral back panels to the aforementioned lateral edges of the absorbent membrane structure. d) Cutting the continuous fiber panels of the interconnected absorbent structure into individual absorbent products; e) Folding each discontinuous absorbent product along the lateral folds through the leg openings to position the front and back panels facing each other; and f) Connecting the front and back panels along a pair of opposing side seams to define the waist and leg openings and provide a reusable, underwear-like disposable absorbent product.
