Disposable diapers consist of an anterior waist area, a posterior waist area, and a groin area between these two sections. This diaper incorporates a translucent top layer, an impermeable back layer, and an absorbent core positioned between these two sections. Additionally, it includes a pair of flexible barrier folds that extend longitudinally along the groin area and into the anterior and posterior waist areas. These flexible barrier folds are elastic and can stretch/contract in the longitudinal direction due to the combined effect of multiple elastic pieces. Each pair of these flexible barrier folds includes a support wall extending upwards from the inner surface of the diaper and a sealing surface consisting of a first upper section extending inward from the support wall and a second upper section extending outward from the support wall. In the sealing surface, more than one of these elastic pieces extends parallel to another in the longitudinal direction along the groin area and into the anterior and posterior waist areas, and is held in place under longitudinal stress. So that the flexible component lying along the inner edge of the sealing surface has a higher longitudinal stress than the longitudinal stress of one of the greater numbers of such remaining flexible components.
