Claims

1. A steam generator (20) for the surface hardening furnace (1) consisting of a tubular part (21) with an open upper end (201) which is fixed to the upper wall (19) of the surface hardening furnace (1), a closed lower end (202) which extends into the surface hardening furnace (1), and a hole (24) adjacent to the lower end (202) of the tubular part (21), and a cover plate (22) which is fixed to the upper end (201) of the tubular part (21) to close it. The cover plate (22) has a pipe (23) that extends through it. The pipe (23) has one open end (232) which is connected to the methanol source and a second open end (231) which extends into the tubular part (21). (Clause 1, page 1, figure 4)
