At least one sheet of fibrous material, and preferably two, may be embossed. The sheets of fibrous material are joined together in a face-to-face, relative-moving manner to create a laminate structure in which the sheets of fibrous material can move relative to each other during consumer use without causing tearing or separation of any of the individual sheets of the laminate structure. The sheets of fibrous material making up the laminate structure may be joined relative to each other by adhesives, by mechanical splicing of erected fibers created on the surface of the fiber sheets, or by a combination of adhesives and splicing of erected fibers. A thin-layered fibrous structure or laminate consisting of at least two sheets, and methods for producing such a structure are presented in this invention. At least one sheet of fibrous material, and preferably two, may be embossed. The sheets of fibrous material are joined together in a face-to-face, relative-moving manner. These materials can move and interact with each other to create a laminate structure in such a way that the fiber sheets can move and interact with each other during use by the consumer, without causing tearing or separation of any single fiber sheet that makes up the laminate structure. The fiber sheets that make up the laminate structure can be joined movably using adhesives, by mechanical splicing of vertical fibers created on the surface of the fiber sheets, or by a combination of adhesives and mechanical splicing.
