An absorbent material with two longitudinal edges. This absorbent material consists of: A) a bottom layer; B) an upper layer permeable to the liquid, connected to the bottom layer; C) an absorbent core positioned between the upper and lower layers; and D) transverse leg sleeves, arranged perpendicular to each of the two longitudinal edges. Each transverse leg sleeve has its edges in close contact with the longitudinal edges of the absorbent material, and its ends are at least partially unstable in relation to the absorbent material. Each transverse leg sleeve has an inner surface aligned inward of the absorbent material and an outer surface aligned with the wearer's skin when the absorbent material is worn. At least a portion of the outer or inner surface of the transverse leg sleeves is coated with a semi-solid or solid lotion at 20°C in an amount sufficient to be deposited there and at least some of which is transported to the wearer's skin. The lotion coating consists of (i) a polysiloxane moisturizing agent of approximately 10 to approximately 95%, which is at a melting or fluid concentration of 20°C, and (ii) a substance capable of immobilizing the polysiloxane moisturizing agent on the outer or inner surfaces of the barrier leg sheath of approximately 5 to approximately 95%. This immobilizing substance has a melting point of at least approximately 35°C.

An absorbent material as per claim 1, which has a concentric, flexible, concentric ring arranged adjacent to each of the two longitudinal edges of the absorbent material, and which extends laterally from the longitudinal edges of the absorbent material, and which each ring has a front surface oriented toward the wearer's skin when the absorbent material is inserted, and a back surface opposite the front surface, which at least a portion of the front or back surface of the ring is coated with a semi-solid or solid lotion at 20°C in an amount that is effective in being deposited there and which at least a portion is transported to the wearer's skin. Such lotion consists of (i) a skin-moisturizing polysiloxane of approximately 5 to approximately 95% concentration, which is molten or fluid at 20°C, and (ii) a substance capable of moisturizing the polysiloxane on the front or back surface of the ring. The immobilizing agent in the leg sheath, which forms a ring, is approximately 5 to 95% immobilizing. This immobilizing agent has a melting point of at least 35°C.
