Abstract

It comprises a cylinder and piston assembly driven by compressed air for controlled activation of the slider between the open and closed positions, respectively, for opening or closing the passage. It is uniquely designed so that the slider (S) is movable within a surrounding housing (G). The housing (G) is formed with an opening that completely encloses the passage (D), and the housing (G) is subjected to excessive air pressure during the operational movement of the slider (S), thus preventing the transfer of contaminants from the passage (D) into the housing. The device is activated by pressurized air for controlled activation of the slider between the open and closed positions for opening or closing the locking pathway, respectively. It is uniquely characterized in that the slider (S) is movably guided within a housing (G) that encloses the slider. The housing (G) is formed with an opening that completely surrounds the passage (D), and the housing (G) is subjected to excessive air pressure during the functional movement of the slider (S), thus preventing the transfer of contaminants from the pathway (D) into the housing.

Claims

1. A sliding valve for pipelines that serve as flow paths for liquids, sludge, and waste materials, comprising a body (G) with an opening for the liquid, sludge, or waste material; a pneumatically operated cylinder and piston assembly for controlled actuation of the sliding section between open and closed positions to open or block the passage (D) of the pipe; where the sliding section (S) is movable within the body (G) that encloses it; and the body (G) can be supplied with compressed air (P) through a line (R) in a condition where the body (G) is under excessive air pressure during the working movement of the sliding section (S) to prevent the transfer of contaminants from the pipe passage (D) into the body. A unique feature is that the body (G) is constructed with an opening such that it completely encloses the opening of the passage (D) of the sliding section (S) in the open position. The drive (K) of the slide and body (G) is supplied with compressed air via a 5/2-way valve, and excess air pressure is obtained from the cylinder (Z) of the drive piston (K).
