In one form, the integrated circuit includes an alarm circuit which generates a response signal to the input received from the user interface; a switching logic which provides power from the voltage source to the uncontrolled power bus; and a voltage control circuit where the switching logic responds to a signal from the alarm circuit; a controlled power bus which communicates with the voltage control circuit; a permanently erasable memory unit that communicates with the controlled power bus; and an encoder logic that communicates with the controlled power bus. The encoder logic has an output logic which provides a signal to the transmitter.

Claims

1. Integrated circuits are well-utilized in electronic encoders with high-voltage sources, user interfaces, and transmitters that operate with high-voltage sources to generate radio frequency transmissions. These integrated circuits consist of an alarm circuit that generates a signal in response to input received from the user interface; a power switching logic that responds to the signal from the alarm circuit, providing high voltage to the transmitter and to the voltage control circuit. The voltage control circuit reduces the high voltage to provide a low voltage to the non-erasable memory and the encoding logic. The encoding logic has an output logic that provides data to the transmitter.

2. An integrated circuit as defined in Claim 1, in which a voltage control circuit consists of a resistor in series with a Zener diode.

3. An electronic encoder as defined in Claim 1, where the maximum voltage level of the high-voltage power source is approximately 12 volts.

4. An electronic encoder as specified in Claim 1, in which the voltage control circuit shall provide a low voltage with a maximum voltage between approximately 5.5 and 6 volts.
