The detergent-active dialkyl sulphosuccinate mixture, derived from a mixture of straight-chain and/or branched-chain acetic alcohols, consists of: a) 25 to 75 mol% of 8-carbon alcohols; b) 15 to 75 mol% of 7-carbon alcohols; c) 0 to 35 mol% of 6-carbon alcohols. This alcohol mixture is considered free of other alcoholic alcohols.
