Specifically, the absorbent core is effective and efficient in absorbing human fluids that come into contact with the surface of the absorbent material. The absorbent core consists of a first absorbent layer of fluffy cellulose material and a second absorbent layer of flexible cellulose material. The first absorbent layer can have an inlet, so the second absorbent layer can quickly absorb human fluids released from any source. The absorbent material provides excellent wettightness displacement recovery without the use of polymers or polyolefins in either of the absorbent layers. The absorbent core, when compressed laterally to approximately 40% of its initial size, will recover to at least approximately 70% of its initial size, the size before compression.
