The formula consists of crushed mangosteen peel, crushed banana blossom, cassava starch, urea, and sulfur. Pelleted feed produced from this invented formula, when formed into pellets with a diameter of 0.5 cm and baked at 60°C for 48-72 hours, showed moisture and protein content of 15% and 18%, respectively. This study aims to develop a pelleted feed formula for ruminants using mangosteen peel as an ingredient. The tannins in mangosteen peel have the property of being an undigested protein in the rumen, or rumen bypass protein. Furthermore, the addition of buffer substances improves the rumen fermentation process and maintains an optimal rumen pH level, which will ultimately improve animal productivity.
