Claims

1. The system for establishing a characteristic reference for coin characterization consists of several coin characterization devices for post-insertion coin authentication and for classifying inserted coins based on a predefined characterization reference. A determination device is used to define this reference for characterization in the coin characterization devices. These devices include a first conditional procedure for determining the range of valid coins to allow authentication of all units, and a second conditional procedure for establishing the characterization reference for all coin units to be used as relative data for the valid range. This determination device also includes a procedure for preparing the characterization reference when it is declared as relative data for the valid range, and a third conditional procedure for sending the prepared relative data to be determined by the coin characterization devices.

2. The system under claim 1 is characterized by a coin sorting device having a detector that generates voltage levels based on the unit of the coin, and the first conditional pathway that determines the true coin selection range based on the insertion of the first coin representing the highest voltage level from the detector and the second coin representing the lowest level from the detector.
