Abstract

A subcutaneous drug delivery device that uses a motor to propel a medication vial according to a programmed schedule as instructed by a physician. This allows them more time to care for other patients or those with more severe conditions. The device features a compact design with a backup battery for power outages. Claims (1)

1. Subcutaneous drug delivery device. The device has a special design: it consists of a square stepper motor (1) with a motor housing (3). The motor provides power to push the vial into the device, which is attached to the motor shaft holder (2) and the threaded shaft (4), to drive the vial. The movement of the drug in the vial is pushed by a vial pusher (5) that moves along the threaded shaft (4). When rotated, there are upper vial holders (6) and lower vial holders (7) all on a main structure (8) that houses an electronic circuit. There is an emergency shut-off button (9) for when the device malfunctions, and a power button (10) to turn the device on and off. When the device is running, there are six buttons (11) to select the device's operation, adjusting the dosage and timing as prescribed by the physician. There is a display screen (12) showing the selected program. The device also has a backup battery for when the main power fails, with a battery compartment (15). There is also an indicator light. The battery charger (14) also has a battery charger socket (13) and can use electricity directly from a 220 volt power source.
