The curvature closely resembles the fuller portion of the user's thumb, forming a longitudinal gripping surface that corresponds to the human-mechanical device, allowing the user's thumb and fingers to grasp the opposing longitudinal surfaces of the bulbous section. Furthermore, the front of the bulbous section's upper surface forms elongated directional grooves that extend lengthwise for the user's fingers. The user places the bulbous section in their palm and applies force to the directional grooves with their long fingers to achieve a controlled grip on the razor.

In a direction perpendicular to the aforementioned elongated groove, which is generally wider perpendicular to the longitudinal axis than in the center, this bulbous portion is bent away from the secondary primary surface to form a gripping pad. This interaction between the human and the mechanical device involves the curved, fleshy part of the user's thumb and fingers gripping the bulbous portion. The user places the bulb in their palm and applies force to the elongated grooves with their fingers to control the handle of the shaver.
