Abstract

Paper bags for packaging flexible materials are designed to be compressed in a direction parallel to their thickness. The bag should be carefully selected to completely enclose the compressed flexible material and form an overall rectangular box shape. Ideally, the bag should incorporate an opening in one of the side walls. This opening should contain an internal reinforcing panel made of biodegradable and/or recyclable material. This reinforcing panel provides support for the opening under the tension generated by the compression of the flexible material. At the bottom end of the opening, there should be a fragile flap that creates a channel in the side wall when hand-tightened, potentially causing tearing. Ideally, the bag should also include handles attached to the top extension of the paper bag.

Claims (19)

1. A paper package, mostly rectangular in shape, made of compressed, flexible material, consists of: (a) front and back walls connected to each other by a pair of side walls, a bottom and a top wall; (b) an opening device consisting of a pair of vertical lines of brittleness enclosed within one wall of the aforementioned side walls of the paper package. These vertical lines of brittleness form a predefined section of the side walls that is at least partially separated from the rest of the side walls without tension relief. This predefined section of the side walls is partially separated by the application of a gripping force to the tear flaps extending from the bottom end of the opening device. Thus, the flexible material that fits snugly into the channels formed in the side walls unfolds through these channels in a fan-like arrangement, while the segments of the flexible material that fit snugly into the channels unfold. (c) an inner reinforcing plate made of biodegradable and/or recyclable material is provided on the innermost surface of the opening device and the tear flap and extends at least over the entire area of the opening device and beyond the vertical line of fragility. The reinforcing plate shall have a long horizontal channel extending continuously between the vertical line of fragility and shall fit snugly into the lower end of the opening device and the upper end of the tear flap. 2. The paper packaging of claim number 1, herein the vertical lines of fragility as described above are provided on the side walls as described above and are defined as limits of the opening device as described above, consisting of a pair of vertical perforations. 3. The paper packaging of claim number 1, herein the vertical line of fragility as described above is provided on the side wall as described above and is defined as a limit of the opening device as described above, which consists of a vertical thread made of recyclable material. 4. The paper packaging of claim number 1, hereby provided, the internal reinforcing plates as described above, made of a scientifically decayable and/or recyclable material, are provided on the exterior of the side walls as described above, which contain the opening devices as described above, and extend over the entire area of the opening devices as described above, covering the vertical lines of vulnerability as described above, and the horizontal elongations as described above, which define the area of the opening devices as described above. 5. The paper packaging of claim number 4, herein the case of the tear flap as described above, extending from the bottom end of the device which is the opening of the device, shall be coated with a peelable coating on its side facing the paper packaging which allows the tear flap to be repeatedly attached and removed against the corresponding area of the side wall which is normally to be placed flat when the paper packaging is closed. 6. The paper packaging of claim number 1, in addition to the handles on the protruding top wall as mentioned above, of the aforementioned paper packaging. 7. The paper packaging of claim number 6 is reinforced herein with a layer of biodegradable and/or recyclable material to support the aforementioned handles. 8. The paper packaging of claim number 7, additionally incorporating a biodegradable and/or recyclable protective U-shaped component, slides along the free-moving top edge of the aforementioned handle device and is attached by stitching. 9. The paper packaging of claim number 8, herein the aforementioned handles are provided near the aforementioned seams. 10. Paper packaging, mostly rectangular in shape and made of compressed flexible material, consists of: (a) front and back walls joined together by a pair of side walls, a bottom wall and a top wall; (b) an opening device consisting of a pair of vertical brittle lines enclosed within one of the aforementioned side walls of the paper packaging. These vertical brittle lines form a predefined section of the side walls to be separated at least from the rest of the side walls without tension relaxation in the rest of the side walls; this predefined section of the side walls is partially separated by the application of a bonding force to the flaps of the packaging. (c) An inner reinforcing plate consisting of biologically decaying and/or recyclable material is placed on the innermost surface of the aforementioned lateral wall, in which the upper end of the plate is placed in a fan-like arrangement with the lower end of the aforementioned opening and the upper end of the tear flap; and (c) An inner reinforcing plate consisting of biologically decaying and/or recyclable material is placed on the innermost surface of the aforementioned lateral wall, in which the aforementioned opening and the tear flap are placed; such reinforcing plate is placed in a fan-like arrangement with the upper end of the tear flap, in which the upper end of the plate is placed in a fan-like arrangement with the lower end of the aforementioned opening and the upper end of the tear flap. 11. The paper packaging of claim number 10, herein the vertical line of the aforementioned fragility is laid out on the aforementioned side wall and is defined as the limit of the aforementioned opening device, which consists of a pair of vertical perforations. 12. The paper packaging of claim number 10, herein the vertical line of the aforementioned fragility is laid out on the aforementioned side wall and is defined as the limit of the aforementioned opening device, which consists of a vertical thread made of recyclable material. 13. The paper packaging of claim number 10, herein the tear flap, extending from the bottom end of the aforementioned opening device, is coated with a removable adhesive on its side facing the paper packaging, which allows the tear flap to be repeatedly attached and detached to the corresponding area of the side which normally allows it to lie flat when the paper packaging is closed. 14. The paper packaging of claim number 10, additionally including carrying handles on the protruding portion of the aforementioned top wall of the paper packaging. 15. The paper packaging of claim number 14 is reinforced herein with a layer of biodegradable and/or recyclable material. 16. The paper packaging of claim number 15, additionally incorporated with a biodegradable and/or recyclable protective U-shaped component, slides onto the free-standing top edge of the aforementioned handle device and is attached by stitching. 17. The paper packaging of claim number 16, herein the aforementioned carrying device is provided near the aforementioned seam. 18. Most paper packaging is rectangular in shape and made of compressed, flexible material. Such paper packaging consists of: (a) front and back walls joined together by a pair of side walls, a bottom wall and a top wall; (b) a carrying device extending from the top wall; (c) an opening device consisting of a pair of vertical lines of fragility within the side walls of the paper packaging. Such vertical lines of fragility form a predefined section of the side walls that is separated at least from the rest of the side walls without tension relaxation. This predefined section of the side walls is partially separated by the application of a gripping force to the tear flaps extending from the bottom end of the opening device, so that the flexible material, which fits snugly into the channels formed in the side walls, unfolds through these channels in a fan-like arrangement. While the said flexible material portion which fits snugly with the remaining rigid portion of the aforementioned lateral wall shall remain in a largely compressed state; and (d) an inner reinforcing plate consisting of biodegradable and/or recyclable material is provided on the innermost surface of the aforementioned lateral wall which contains the aforementioned opening device and the aforementioned tear flap, the said reinforcing plate fits snugly with the aforementioned tear flap whose upper end fits snugly with the lower end of the aforementioned opening device and the upper end of the aforementioned tear flap. 19. The paper packaging of claim 18, herein the vertical line of the aforementioned fragility is laid out on the aforementioned side wall and is defined as the limit of the aforementioned opening device, consisting of a pair of vertical perforations.
