Description

Known methods for determining the route of a submarine cable or the location of its ends in breaking are based on the use of diving reconnaissance and trawling. These methods require a lot of time and money.

The proposed method is based on measuring the electric field near the submarine cable created in water by an audio current flowing through a cable from a generator connected to it. This method is much simpler, but less time consuming.

The essence of the proposed method is as follows: in water, between the grounded electrode and the cable sheath, an alternating electric field of audio frequency is created, for which the audio frequency generator is connected to ground by one pole, to the cable sheath, or through cable wires. The field potential is obtained the highest directly near the cable itself, which determines the location of the latter by measuring the voltage of the electric field in different places of the water reservoir. An electrical zero is measured using two electrodes immersed in water at different depths and mechanically connected to each other. One of the electrodes can move along the bottom, the other at the surface of the water. Through the amplifier, the electrodes are connected to the indicator and the control telephone. When a cable is being trawled, a trawling projectile is used instead of the bottom electrode; instead of the second electrode, the metal hull of the vessel can be used.

Depending on the conditions, the supply of intense audio frequency to the cable jacket is different: a) if necessary, the cable route is located at a short distance from the shore (for example, 100-200 m), one pole of the audio frequency generator is connected directly to the shell on the shore cable, the other pole is grounded at a distance of 300-500 m from the cable route in the direction perpendicular to it; b) when determining the path at the hospital distance, the generator is connected by one pole to any cable core, at the opposite end this core is short-circuited to the shell, the second pole of the generator is grounded as far as possible from the cable path (at a distance of 0.2 to 0.5 length cable in the direction perpendicular to the grass); c) when locating the cut end of the cable, one pole of the generator is connected to the short-circuited cable core, the other pole is grounded as in the previous case. The current passes through all the conductors of the cable to the place of the cliff and there through

Способ определени  трассы подводного кабел , а также местоположени  его концов при обрыве с помощью генератора звуковой частоты , который подключает к оболочке или жиле кабел  и к заземлению, и индикатора пол , отличающийс  тем, что с помощью укаотсыревшую изол цию в металлическую оболочку кабел .The method of determining the route of the submarine cable, as well as the location of its ends when it is broken by means of an audio frequency generator, which connects to the cable sheath or core and to grounding, and a floor indicator, characterized in that it has the thinned insulation into the metal cable sheath.

Таким образом, трасса кабел  определ етс  по максимуму показаний индикатора, а место обрыва кабел  наход т порезкому спаданию величины показаний индикатора при исследовании пол  за оборванным концом кабел .If, keeping the distance between the electrodes, to bring them closer to the cable, then at the moment when one of them reaches the cable, the potential difference between the electrodes sharply increases; the galvanomete will detect this and indicate an approach to the cable. Thus, the cable path is determined by the maximum of the indicator readings, and the place of the cable break is found by sharply decreasing the value of the indicator readings when examining the floor behind the broken end of the cable.

The indicator and the electrodes connected to it are examined by the electric field created in water by an audio frequency current, and the cable path is determined by the maximum indicator readings, and the place where the cable is broken by a sharp decrease in the indicator readings.
