The invention relates to the woodworking industry and can be used in milling machines (actually milling, quadrilateral, planing, planing machines). A known milling cutter with thin screw knives 1. A mill for processing wood is also known, comprising a housing, a sleeve, blade knives 0.5 mm thick with a zero back angle and a device for adjusting and securing them 2. The drawbacks of the known cutter designs are their complexity and the impossibility of creating mills with a sufficiently large number of knives, providing the required milling performance. The purpose of the invention is to simplify the design and increase productivity by increasing the number of knives. This is achieved by the fact that the cutter body is made of a material with a molding temperature not exceeding the heat resistance of the material of the knives, and the knives and sleeve are connected to the body one-piece by means of molding. In addition, the blade knives are made with a concave front surface, and the thickness of the blade knives is 0.1-0.2 mm. The drawing shows the cutter. It consists of knives 1, bushings 2 and body 3. Knives 1 are made of tool material, for example, of steel tape. The number of knives is selected from the condition of providing a given milling process productivity. With a cutting diameter of 140-160 mm, the number of cutter knives of this design can reach 80-100 sch. This allows you to select the frequency of rotation of the cutter from the condition of reducing noise to the level of existing sanitary and hygienic standards. The knives are curved in such a way that their front surface in a radial section is outlined along a logarithmic spiral or other curves that ensure the stability of the front angle when the mill is regrind. The cylindrical sleeve 2 is made of a structural material, for example steel 45, and serves to secure the milling cutter on the machine spindle.
The housing 3 connects the sleeve 2 and the knives 1 into a one-piece construction. Reliable fastening of the knives is ensured by the adhesion of their surface to the body during curing of the material of the body. The body is made of a material with a forming temperature not exceeding the heat resistance of the material of the knives, which ensures the preservation of the cutting properties of the knives in the manufacture of the cutter. Such materials for manufacturing: housings can be cast or wrought alloys (for example, aluminum), as well as plastics.
The simplicity and manufacturability of the cutter design is ensured by the fact that its manufacture is made by casting into a mold or pressing into a die into which knives and a sleeve are pre-installed.
The sharpening of the cutter is carried out by grinding the blades. The maximum allowable length of the chamfer on the back surface of the knives, which is formed when they are being ground, should not exceed 0.2 mm. This is achieved by selecting the blade thickness of the plate from 0.1 to 0.2 mm.
The protrusion of the knife from the cutter body should be minimal, but not less than the thickness of the cutting chips. Reducing the diameter of the body during operation of the cutter can be made, in particular, directly in the process of its work due to
износа корпуса при трении о него срезаемой стружки.wear of the body when rubbed about it chips.
