Description

In existing devices for testing the strength of a fabric or yarn, it is ruptured. Since tarso testing cannot serve as a sufficient measure of strength, in this invention, for this purpose, it is proposed to expose a fabric or yarn to a large number of bends, tensions connected to a bend, and friction tensions.

To carry out this kind of testing of fabric or yarn for durability, instruments are offered (schematically shown in Fig. 1 JI 2 of the drawing.

Rod I (Fig. 1) oscillates about axis 2 under the action of an eccentric 3 rotating from the motor and entering into a slot at the end of the rod 1. The upper end of the rod 1 is equipped with a clip 4 clamping several strips 5 of the test fabric or yarn, the other ends of which clamped in the clamp 6. This latter, fixed in the holder 7, can be moved up and down and, thus, change the distance between the clamped ends of the fabric, increasing or decreasing its bend. A modified device that serves to test fabric for tension, associated with bending, consists of a movable clip 4 (Fig. 2), which captures a number of strips of fabric or yarn, above

which are located clips 6 ,. exciting second ends of strips of fabric or yarn each separately. The bottom clip 4 is connected by a connecting rod, guided by the rollers 13 and provided with a joint J 4, with an eccentric 3, which gives the clip a movement up and down. Upper clamps & connected by strings 8, thrown over blocks 15, with sliding boxes 9 with a weight for pulling the fabric of the yarn.

To test the fabric for tension with friction, the one shown in FIG. 2 by a dashed line a scraper device 11, consisting of a metal plate, ... strips or a wooden plank, fixed on the stand of the device by means of a clamping pin 1, 10. allowing the sliding device 11 to protrude to a greater or lesser length and thereby change its action.
