(54) ELECTRODE SUPPORT FOR MANUAL ARC WELDING
The invention relates to devices used in manual electric arc welding with a melting electrode. An electrode holder for manual arc welding is known, comprising a housing with a handle, a control lever, clamping jaws and a spring cooperating with the control lever, as well as an electric cable directly connected to clamping cabin 1 . A disadvantage of the known device is its low reliability during operation due to the increased heating of the spring, which is in contact with the part that fixes the electrode during heating. The purpose of the invention is to increase reliability during operation by reducing the heating of the spring. To achieve this goal, the spring is made in the form of a half-cylinder of sheet material with a hole in the side wall, the axis of which is aligned with the longitudinal axis of the body of the electrode holder, and the electrical cable is placed in the hole. FIG. 1 shows an electrode holder, a general view; FIG. 2 - too. side view; in fig. 3 is a view along arrow B in FIG. 2. The electrode holder includes a housing 1 with a handle 2 and a control lever 3, which is equipped with clamping jaws 4 and 5. The lever 3 controls a hook 6 to eject a stick of electrode, is mounted on the axis 7 of the housing 1 and communicates with it by means of a spring 8, as a half cylinder with a hole 9 in the side wall, in which an electrical cable 10 is placed, connected by terminals 11 with a pressure sponge 2. The electrical outlet works as follows. A hand (not shown) is applied to the handle 2 and the lever compresses the flat spring 8, then insert an electrode (not shown) between the jaws 4 and 5 and relieve the hand from the handle. The spring 8 is expanded and the electrode is fixed. In order to select the butt of the electrode (not shown), the handle 2 and the lever 3 are pressed by the hand. The spring 8 is compressed and the sponge 5 moves away from the sponge 4. In turn, the hook 6 ejects the candle end, the holder is ready to install a new electrode.
