Description

THE SORPTION-CHEMICAL METHOD OF CLEANING HARMFUL

INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER

December 23, 1948, No. 389069 with the accession of Application No. 394236, was published. Published in Bulletin of Inventions No. 3 for 1950.

Existing methods for the treatment of harmful industrial wastewater using activated carbon or chemical reagents are very expensive and cumbersome.

The proposed method is more affordable and is characterized in that the purification of water is carried out using ash, using its adsorption capacity and chemical properties of its constituents. For this purpose, the sufficiently long and close contact of waste water with ash is carried out by using waste water with the help of pumping pumps or hydraulic elevators to transport ash and ash dumps, where the fed pulp and industrial waste water are settled, ash falls out and carries with it the contaminated soils. . Chemically active alkaline components of ash, such as carbonates, neutralize the acidity of water. Subsequently, the purified water is removed through the weir into the pond.

The presence of significant amounts of ash at all large enterprises from the combustion of solid fuels, allows extensive use of the described method for the treatment of industrial waste water.

Subject invention

A sorption-chemical method of purifying hazardous industrial wastewater, characterized in that ash obtained in boiler plants is used as a sorbent and chemical agent, and for better contact and necessary duration between ash and cleaned water, the latter are fed by gravity
