Description

The invention relates to the field of oceanography and can be used for remote measurements of sea surface characteristics. The known method of measuring the slopes of the sea surface, in which the sea wave surface (by ultrasonic vibrations) is irradiated with one vertically directed beam, the signals taken from the surface under investigation are received at three or more points, comparing them with the reference one, determine the propagation time of ultrasonic vibrations and they have distances of up to three or more points and determine the initial slope from them. The disadvantage of this method is the narrow frequency range of the measured values. The closest in technical essence and the achieved result to the invention is a method of measuring sea surface slopes based on vertical sounding of a sea surface by pulse signals, receiving scattered signals in the opposite direction and measuring their intensity 2, the disadvantage of this method is the difficulty of measuring short-wave slopes part of the spectrum of the sea surface. The aim of the invention is to simplify the measurement of the slopes of the shortwave part of the sea surface spectrum. To do this, according to the proposed method of measuring the slopes of the sea surface, along with the intensity of the backscattered signals, their duration is measured, the dependence of the intensity on the duration and the increment of the duration corresponding to the decrease in intensity from maximum to level relative to maximum are determined, the value of the mean-square slope of shortwave is determined part of the spectrum of the sea surface. FIG. 1 shows a block diagram of a device implementing the method; FIG. 2 - profile of the sea surface on which the beam of a vertically oriented antenna falls (and is the angle between the probe beam and the normal to the mid-plane of the irradiated area of size i.); in fig. 3 - depending
