Изобретение относитс  к способу получени  спиртов шерст ного жира, используемых в качестве эффективных эмульгаторов в различных косметичес ких издели х и фармацевтических пре паратах. Известен способ получени  спирто шерст ного жира путем каталитического восстановлени  сложноэфирных групп восков шерст ного жира в присутствии никельхромового катализато при температуре 250-350°С и давлени 200-300 атм 1. Спирты шерст ного жира, как усре ненный продукт представл ют собой сложную смесь, содержащую спирты, невосстановленные сложные эфиры и побочные продукты реакции - углеводороды в следующем процентном соо ношении: Нормальные, разветвленные спирты С,е - С, Диолы С т е р и и ы Холестерин (С, 7H460 Ди гидрохолест ерин холестакол ( ) Тритерпеновые спирты Ланостерин () Дигидроланостерин ( CgoHsjO) Агностерин (, Дигидроагностерин () Неидентифицированные соединени  В состав продукта восстановлени  вход т также набольшие количества углеводородов. Наиболее ценными компонентами этого продукта  вл ютс  свободные спирты, содержание которых характеризуетс  гидроксильным числом, наименее ценными - углеводороды. По технической сущности к предложенному способу наиболее близок способ получени  спиртов шерст ного жира восстановлением сложноэфирных групп восков шерст ного жира в присутствии медьхромбариевого катализатора при температуре 280-300с к добавлении 200-300 атм.
