Description

In the wood-mass technology, artificial ceramic defibrating stones are now widely used, consisting of separate segments connected to each other, on the one hand, with a metal or reinforced concrete core and, on the other hand, steel rings or holders forums. The joints between the segments are poured in during the installation of stones with various substances (babbits, artificial resins, mineral cements). The segments contain on their side surface (contact surface) special recesses, which include metal fittings.

The production of such composite segmental stones presents considerable difficulties. For stone, it is necessary to make several tens (up to 100) of separate ceramic segments, which must have a completely regular shape, strictly uniform hardness and the same physical properties. Installation of composite segmental stones is a rather difficult technical task. When assembling, weak points are often formed, which later in operation in wood mass production lead to accidents.

The proposed new defibral stones are characterized in that the outer, defibrating zone itself consists of the abrasive components of a two-stage structure and is characterized by a double bond uniformly distributed in its mass. Actually abrasive grains (natural and artificial minerals of high hardness — quartz, corundum, etc.), interconnected by burning ceramic or another cementing substance, form small shards and so on, irregular or, in some cases, x, the correct form.

Unlike existing massive quartz-cement and composite ceramic stones, where individual mineral grains are primary, at the same time, the only abrasive structural element of the continuous or dissected into separate segments of the working layer, in this case, abrasive grains serve as a secondary structural element and the secondary (with respect to the stone, in general) the dispersed phase.
