При известном способе колебани  скорости движени  магнитной ленты опреде- л ют путем воспроизведени  записанных на ней сигналов. Измерение колебаний скорости движени  магнитной ленты производ т следующим образом . Магнитную ленту намагничивают по всей ее длине посто нным магнитным попем . После этого производ т воспроизведение сигналов шума в двух точках вдоль направлени  движени  магнитной, ленты. Сигнал шума в каждой точке представл ет собой нормальный стационарный случайный процесс с равномерным спектром частот в некоторой полосе частот. Сигналы шума в обеих точках идентичны и сдвинуты на врем , равное времени перемещени  элемента магнитной ленты из одной точки в другую. По результату измерени  переменной состал ющей коэффициента автокоррел ции между воспроизведенными сигналами шума в двух точках определ ют колебани  скорости движени  магнитной ленты.The measurement of the oscillation of the speed of the magnetic tape is carried out as follows.
