Description
(54) LIQUID METAL CONTACT KNOT
J. ,,, 1 The invention relates to a technique for switching high-current DC electric circuits. Liquid metal contact nodes are known in which the switching of the circuit is carried out with the help of two disks with holes located at some distance from the axis around which one of them rotates. The disadvantage of such a device is its limited switching capacity. In the proposed construction, an increase in the breaking capacity is achieved by introducing arcing devices, which are made in the form of narrow arcuate slots in a fixed insulating disk, having a width in the radius direction that is smaller than the width of the hole and directed in the direction of rotation of the movable disk. FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal dimension of the node in the on state; in fig. 2 is a cross-sectional view of the device software 1-1 of the retractable insulating plate. The liquid-metal contact unit consists of a fixed insulating disk 1 and a movable disk of the same 2. They are provided with holes 3 that exactly coincide with each other. The lower disk 1 has narrow slots 4 connected to the openings 3. A metal electrode 5 is attached to the lower insulating disk 1. The housing 6 is filled with liquid metal, it is also the second electrode. The disks 1 and 2 are pressed to each other by the spring 7. The movable disk moves relative to the stationary with the help of the rod 8 and the handle 9. In the switched on state of the contact assembly, the slits in the insulation disks 1 and 2 are aligned and filled with liquid metal, through which solid metal electrodes. The chain is closed. When disconnected, the movable disk 2 is displaced by a certain angle relative to the fixed part of the liquid metal,
При дальнейшем смешении подвижного изол ционного диска прорезь 4 пере- Крываетс его поверхностью и жидкометал лический контакт нарушаетс .I, bounded by the hole, moves with it, slits in the lower disk; the insulating surface of the upper disk overlaps, the main conductor is broken, however, the circuit remains closed through the liquid metal in slot 4. The current is limited by the resistance of the thin column of liquid metal. Thus, a secondary circuit is created, the current of which is determined by the cross section and the length of the slot. Upon further mixing of the movable insulating disc, the slot 4 overlaps with its surface and the liquid metal contact is broken.
