Description
It has already been proposed that various high-resistance electrical resistances be made from ferrosilicon with various binders, for example, with clay, cement, etc., but these resistances were usually not strong enough and sufficiently stable. On the other hand, it was also repeatedly proposed to perform high-resistance resistances, preparing a part of liquid glass with a filler in the form of a powder of non-oxidizing metal or graphite, but these resistances still did not allow to reach the desired temperatures and were not sufficiently stable.
According to the present invention, it is proposed to use as base materials for such resistances of ferrosilicon in an amount of about 600/0 with a liquid glass in an amount of about 30%. Depending on the desired end result, one or other additives can be added to such a paste, but the basis is necessarily, as indicated, ferrosilicon and water glass. Such a composition is based on the fact that the author has found that in a paste like this, ferrosilicon and liquid glass are not just mechanical ingredients, but interact with a chemical interaction, approximately as follows:
2Si -f 2NaOH-f- ЗНгО - Na8Sl2Os+4H2 f2Si -f 2NaOH-f- ЗНгО - Na8Sl2Os + 4H2 f
или Si + 2NaOH + НгО - -f- 2H, for Si + 2NaOH + HgO - -f- 2H, f
Тщательно поставленные опыгы показали, что в предложенной пасте химическа реакци проходит до конца и никакой ионной проводимости и электролитических влений в изготовленных из этой пасты сопротивлени х Hfr наблюдаетс .for water glass, being a salt of a weak acid and a strong base, gives an alkaline solution due to hydroxyl ions and has an easily dissociating alkali cation. It might be feared that a similar mass of ferrosilicon and liquid glass would give a paste that has significant ionic conductivity. In this case, if the light glass of the above mentioned lightly dissociating alkaline cation is present, one would expect a rapid electrolytic decomposition of the paste with the release of alkali metal ions at the cathode. Careful experimentation has shown that the chemical reaction in the proposed paste passes to the end and no ionic conductivity or electrolytic effects in the resistances Hfr made from this paste are observed.
If it is necessary to increase the resistance of the paste, as already indicated, one or other additives can be added to it, in particular, fine silica or carborundum dust can be added, and in the case of a further increase in resistance, this or another silicate material. Thus, some variants of the weight parts of the components are possible.
2%.According to the experience, the following composition of the paste turned out to be successful: ferrosilicon 60%, liquid glass 30%, silicon 5%, carborundum 3%, clay 2%.
Изготовленные из такой же пасты сопротивлени выказали удельное сопротивление пор дка IQQicM и вл лись достаточно температурно устойчивыми .The resistances made from the same paste showed resistivity on the order of IQQicM and were sufficiently temperature stable.
A method of manufacturing high resistances on the basis of ferrosilicon mixed with a binder, characterized in that ferrosilicon in an amount of about 60% is mixed with liquid glass in an amount of about 30% and with other additives added, resistances are made from the paste.
