Известен способ определени  склонности к хрупкому разрушению металлов и сплавов, заключающийс  в том, что испытывают образец с надрезом, по оси которого выполнено два отверсти , симметричных надрезу, нагружают его до возникновени  исходной усталостной трещины, а затем прикладывают статическую нагрузку до получени  скачка трещины .
