Description

This invention relates to compositions for the preparation of cellular articles based on thermoplastic polymers. A composition for the preparation of cellular articles is known, consisting of a thermoplastic polymer, for example polyethylene, polystyrene, polypropylene and others, a wax with a melting point above the softening point of the polymer and a foaming agent. Cellular products obtained on the basis of this composition have a greater thickness and large cells, as well as insufficiently high strength. The purpose of the present invention is to improve the physico-mechanical properties of cellular products. For this, in a composition consisting of a thermoplastic polymer, a wax with a melting point above the softening temperature of the polymer and a foaming agent, a mixture of polyolefin and polystyrene from the components is used as the thermoplastic polymer. the following ratio of weight. h .: Ioliolefin 50-95 Polystyrene 5-50 Wax 0.5-5 Foaming agent 2.5-35 Using a mixture of thermoplastic polymers in the composition according to the invention makes it possible to better regulate the pricing process and to obtain finely cellular products with high strength, thin thickness and a smooth surface. In addition, the composition according to the invention can be processed at a higher temperature than the known. This greatly increases the linear speed of production. If the composition contains less than 5 wt. polystyrene, there are no visible advantages for products based on it compared to products based on known composition. If the composition contains more than 50 wt. polystyrene, then get a very fragile product. Preferably the proposed composition should contain 5-25 wt. including polistnrola, while getting very thin durable cellular products with a small average cell diameter. Polystyrene is added to the polyolefin and dislodged with it by any method. For example, polystyrene and polyolefin in a plastic state are mixed on a roll, in an extruder or in an internal mixer. Components can be introduced into the mixer in the form of grains or in another form. Then the melt obtained after mixing the thermoplastic material with the addition
