Abstract

FIELD: alumina production for regenerative heating of raw bauxite pulp with heat of digested pulp. SUBSTANCE: heat exchanger has cylindrical casing 1 with bundle of heat-exchange tubes secured in tube sheets 11 and 12 and divided by shell 2 into two parts: central part 3 and peripheral part 4. Clearance between shell 2 and lower tube sheet 12 makes it possible to circulate heat-transfer agent and to change direction of its motion by 180 deg; lower overflow chamber 6 provides the same for inter-tube medium. Inlet chamber 5 and outlet chamber 10 for inter-tube medium are cylindrical in shape. Outlet chamber is arranged inside inlet chamber along the axis of tube bundle; inlet branch pipe 7 for heat-transfer agent is mounted inside chamber 10 and is brought in communication with chamber of shell 2 through hole in tube sheet 11. Such arrangement of structural members of heat exchanger makes it possible to use abrasive heat-transfer agent, viz.: bauxite pulp with no danger for heating tubes.
