Description

Known cold-rolled transformer steel with 4-5% silicon, which has a high electrical resistance. A new composition of cold-rolled electrical steel is proposed, in which, in order to increase the electrical resistivity, it contains (in%) silicon 1.8-2.2, aluminum 1.8-2.2, and germanium 1.8-2.2. Steel with a resistivity of 0.63 ohm is obtained, and its magnetic properties are maintained at the level of transformer steel of usual composition.

Steel can be used in magnetic circuits, working at higher frequencies.
