Description
The invention relates to fiber optics and can be used in lighting systems to improve the uniformity of the density of the scattered radiant flux.
The purpose of the invention is to increase the uniformity of the scattering of the radiant flux.
FIG. 1 shows a diffuser of radiant flux; in fig. 2 - the passage of oblique rays through the fiber; in fig. 3 - passing through the fiber meridional rays.
The radiant flux diffuser contains a housing (not shown), inside which is placed a package 1 of optical fibers, each of which has a light guide conductor in the form of a capillary 2, an outer sheath 3 and an inner sheath 4 of a scattering material, the refractive index ng of which satisfies the condition

где пн - показатель преломлени наружной оболочки 3;where mon is the refractive index of the outer shell 3;
2.pc is the refractive index of the capillary 2.
The diffuser of the radiant flux works as follows.
The radiant flux 5, directed to the input end 6 under the aperture angle a, is converted inside the diffuser into a stream that complements the missing directions of the rays within the entire calculated aperture a0, and leaves the output end 7 within the angle 2a. Independently from the input angle aperture a. This is because oblique rays, such as a bundle of rays 8, travel through the optical fiber along a helical line, not entering the inner envelope 4, but meridional rays, such as beam 9, when passing through the optical fiber hit the diffusing inner envelope 4, are scattered in it and form the rays of others

The implementation of the inner shell 4 of the directionally-scattering allows to significantly reduce the formation of out-of-alert rays 11, i.e., to reduce the energy output through the side surfaces of the optical fibers.
Использование изобретени позвол ет в осветител х первично направленного излучени повысить равномерность рассе нного лучистого потока в сечении на выходе из рассеивател .The use of the invention makes it possible to improve the uniformity of the scattered radiant flux in the cross section at the exit of the diffuser in illuminators of primary directional radiation.
