Abstract
The invention relates to welding production and can be used for mechanized arc welding with a melting electrode in shielding gases and under a layer of flux. The purpose of the invention is to increase the reliability of arc excitation in any spatial position. With the electrode retracted from the products, an insert is screwed onto its end in the form of a conical spiral of metal wire 0.5-2 mm in diameter, then the electrode is fed before the insert is closed on the product and the welding current is switched on. The arc is excited reliably, i.e. when the product touches the insert, the helix is compressed, ensuring reliable contact of the electrode with the product, and the conical shape of the helix ensures its secure attachment to the electrode.
Description
The invention relates to welding production and can be used for mechanized arc welding with a melting electrode in shielding gases and under a layer of flux.
The purpose of the invention is to increase the reliability of arc excitation in any spatial position.
The method is carried out as follows.
With the electrode retracted from the product, an insert is screwed onto its end, made in the form of a conical spiral of metal wire with a diameter of 0.5-2.0 mm, the electrode is supplied to the product before the insert is closed on the product and the welding current is turned on. The coil of the insert, when in contact with the product, is compressed and creates a reliable connection between the product and the electrode, which ensures reliable arc excitation when the welding current is switched on.
Подачу проволоки осуществл ют автоматом ТС-17.The arc is excited between the SV-08A type electrode wire with a diameter of 4 mm and a steel sidewall Art. 3 with a diameter of 500 mm and a thickness of 6 mm under the flux AN-348. The wire is fed by the TC-17 machine.
The conical insert helix is made of carbon steel wire SV-08G2S with a diameter of 1 mm. Welding mode:

ток 540 А, напр жение 30 В, скорость подачи проволоки 74 м/ч, пол рность - обратна .current 540 A, voltage 30 V, wire feed speed 74 m / h, polarity inverse.
The gap between the electrode and the product during ignition of the arc was set to 6 mm. Before switching on the current, a spiral is put on the end of the electrode and the electrode is brought in before contact of the spiral with the shell surface. Then include the current at which the welding is carried out.
Excite the arc in the ceiling, upright, downward and oblique position.
When the diameter of the spiral wire is equal to 0.4 mm in the ceiling, vertical and inclined positions, the spiral is unstable placed on the electrode and separated from it. When the wire diameter is more than 2 mm, the spiral does not burn in the required short period of time and makes it difficult to start the arc. It turned out to be optimal with a wire diameter of 0.5-2.0 mm.
The method ensures the reliability of the arc in any spatial position, which affects the quality of the initial seam section during welding in the ceiling and inclined position, eliminates additional work to eliminate defects.
