Description
The invention relates to analytical chemistry and can be used in the chemical, biological and other sectors of the industry, as well as in the control of environmental objects for the presence of cations.
The purpose of the invention is to increase the selectivity of the separation of sodium, ammonium and potassium.

The method of chromatographic separation of cations involves passing a mixture of them in a solution of nitric acid eluant through a macroporous copolymer of 2,3-epoxypropyl methacrylate and ethylene dimethacrylate chemically modified with 1,3-propanesulfon. Ieopropanol is introduced into the eluent solution in the amount of 7-13 vol.%. Detection is performed by a conductivity meter.
Example 1. The cation separation process is carried out using a macroporous 2,3-EPMA-EDMA copolymer with sulfopropyl groups (concentration of the groups is 0.128 mg-eq / g). A chromatographic column with a length of 10 cm and a diameter of 0.6 cm is charged with 1 g of a cation (grain size 17-20 μl5). Nitric acid containing isopropane (10% by volume) with a flow rate of 2 is passed as an eluent (0.003 mol / l) cm3 / min Separate a cation mixture containing 25 mg / l Na4, 25 mg / l NH and 50 mg / l K. Complete ka i separation of Na, NH, K ions in 20 min. x divided the mixture of Na +, Nil 4 and K4 eluen
1 и 2).volume containing nitric acid (0.003 mol / l) without the addition of isopropanol (Fig. 1 and 2).
Example 2. The separation of cations of Na, NH4 and K is carried out analogously to example 1, but eluent with a concentration of 0.002 mol / l of nitric acid and containing 10% by volume of isopropanol is passed through the column. Received a complete separation of cations for 25 minutes
In tab. Figure 1 shows the selectivity of the separation of cations with nitric acid and with the addition of isopropanol in the eluent.
The coefficient of selectivity was calculated by the formula

2 that the optimal selectivity is manifested at 10% by volume of isopropanol in the eluent. When the content of isopropanol is 7–13 vol.%, Complete separation of sodium, ammonium, and potassium occurs.
When the concentration of isopropanol is 7 vol.%, Ammonium is not shared with potassium, JQ and at the concentration of isopropanol
13% by weight of ammonium is combined with sodium.
Thus, the proposed method allows separating the Na +, K, NH cations with high selectivity J5 without increasing the analysis time and deteriorating the efficiency.

As can be seen from the table. 1, the selectivity of ammonium-potassium vapor separation is significantly higher when isopropanol is added to the eluent.
In tab. Figure 2 shows the separation selectivity values for an ammonium-potassium pair at various concentrations of isopropanol in the eluent.
