Abstract
The invention relates to antenna technology and can be used as a directional ultra-wideband antenna of linear polarization in the meter and decimeter wavelengths. The purpose of the invention is to increase the gain. The log-periodic antenna contains a two-wire transmission line, the conductors 1 and 2 of which are located in a vertical plane parallel to each other. Conductor 1 is mounted horizontally, alternately in different directions, with shoulders 3 of seven vibrators, the dimensions of which and the distances between them are chosen according to the law of geometric progression. Conductor 2 has four horizontal vibrators 4, which are located symmetrically with respect to conductor 2 at points opposite the installation positions of the shoulders 3 of odd vibrators on conductor 1. Inside coaxial conductor 2 there is a coaxial cable, the center conductor of which is connected to conductor 1. Conductors 1 and 2 are fixed in isolator 7. The proposed installation of vibrators 4 on conductor 2 forms, from the shoulder 3 and the opposite vibrator 4, a system that reduces the input impedance, which causes an increase in the size of the active Noah region in the direction of smaller vibrators. As a result, the gain is increased. 2 Il.

The log-periodic antenna contains a two-wire transmission line, the conductors 1 and 2 of which are located in a vertical plane parallel to each other. The first conductor 1 is installed horizontally alternately in different directions, the shoulders 3 of seven vibrators, the dimensions of which and the distances between them are subject to the law of geometric progression with the denominator C 1. On the second conductor 2, horizontal four vibrators 4 are installed, located symmetrically with respect to conductor 2 at points opposite the installation positions of the arms 3, of odd vibrators on the first conductor 1. 0,8.a conductor 2, a coaxial cable 5 is laid, the center conductor 6 of which is connected to the conductor 1 of a two-wire transmission line from the installation side of the arms 3 and the vibrators 4 of shorter length. Conductors 1 and 2 are fixed in insulator 7. A log-periodic antenna has the following parameters: Ј 0.92, the ratio of half the length of the vibrator 4 to the length of arm 3 is 0.8.
The log-periodic antenna works as follows,
Coaxial cable 5 excites, in a two-wire transmission line, a traveling wave TEM, propagating towards the large arms 3 and vibrators 4 to exciting current waves in them, the amplitude of which is greater than i the length of arms 3 and vibrators 4s closer to the size of the first resonance .
The shoulders 3 and the vibrators 4, whose dimensions are close to the resonant ones, form the active region of a log-periodic antenna, radiating 4 smaller sizes in the direction of the vibrators. Outside the active region, a TEM traveling wave in a two-wire transmission line due to radiation from the shoulders

The system is equivalent to a dipole with an upper power supply, which, at frequencies lower than the frequencies of the first resonance, has a capacitive input impedance component smaller than the capacitive component of the input impedance dipole fed in the middle. Decreasing the input impedance increases the size of the active region towards smaller vibrators and thereby increases the directional gain and antenna gain.
