Abstract
п. The invention relates to a measurement technique, in particular, to methods for determining the discontinuity of polymeric materials, and can be used to assess the strength properties of materials. The purpose of the invention is to improve the accuracy of determining discontinuity, achieved by accurately determining the moment of discontinuity by registering only the radiation scattered on the crack. The loaded sample 5 is irradiated with optical radiation from the radiation source 1. When a crack appears in the sample, the radiation is reflected from it and enters the photodetector 3 located relative to the sample at an angle equal to the angle of irradiation. The appearance of the photocurrent in the photodetector 3 is recorded by indicator 4 and determines the instant of discontinuity of the sample. The maximum signal-to-noise ratio is achieved at angles of irradiation and registration of reflected radiation in the range of 50-85 °. 1 hp ff, 1 ill.
