Abstract
The invention relates to agriculture and can be used in the selection of agricultural plants.
The purpose of the invention is to increase the viability of pollen.
The method is carried out as follows.
Air-dry pollen of interspecific hybrids of tomatoes is placed on a glass slide. The diameter of the pollen site is 3 mm. Pollen is irradiated in the blue emission region with a wavelength of 441.6 nm for 5 minutes and in the ultraviolet spectral region with a wavelength of 337.1 nm for 1 minute. Then the pollen is germinated on an artificial nutrient medium for 3 hours at 26-28 ° C in a thermostat. Pollen fertility is determined by the percentage of germinated pollen grains and the length of pollen tubes observed under a microscope.
Example. Four options are tested in the ultraviolet (UV) and blue regions of the spectrum to determine the optimal radiation parameters. Non-irradiated pollen is used as a control.
Irradiation of pollen in the blue region of the spectrum (441.6 them) leads to a maximum increase in pollen fertility during an exposure of 5 minutes. However, the maximum effect of increasing the pollen fertility with respect to the control is achieved using laser radiation 337.1 nm long with an irradiation exposure of 1 min. The effect of UV and blue laser radiation on pollen viability is shown in the table.
Pollen fertility at a given exposure exceeds control more than doubled. This makes it possible in a short time during interspecific hybridization to significantly increase the viability of pollen hybrids and increase the yield of valuable
