Раскалывающий инструмент 5 выстраивается по поверхности обрабатываемого камня 10, равномерно нагружая его за счет передачи движения и усилия через упругий элемент 7 и опорные ролики 9. Под действием усилия, передаваемого верхним рабочим органом 3, рабочий стол 6 опускается и раскалывающий иструмент 5 нижнего рабочего органа 4 входит в контакт с нижней поверхностью обрабатываемого камня 10 (аналогично верхнему). При этом обрабатываемый камень 10 оказывается нагруженным с противоположных сторон соос5 ной нагрузкой, равномерно распределенной по линии предполагаемого раскола.
