Изобретение относитс  к добыче природного камн , в частности к выполнению замкнутого горизонтального пропила при проходке пионерных траншей. Цель - повышение эффективности способа за счет снижени  энергоемкости процесса резки при одновременном снижении потерь камн . Способ включает выполнение вертикальной щели 1, ширина которой обеспечивает прохождение приводного вала 2 дл  выполнени  горизонтального пропила. Затем осуществл ют горизонтальный замкнутый пропил 4 дисковой пилой (ДП) 3. Вертикальную щель 1 прорезают ниже зоны работы горизонтальной ДП 3 на величину H≥B.D/B (β-1), где D - диаметр ДП дл  выполнени  горизонтального пропила, B - ширина пропила, B - ширина вертикальной щели, β - коэффициентт разбухани  штыба.
