Перемеща струну в пространстве, измер ют (например , стробоскопическим методом) .частоту колебаний струны при размещении ее в различных точках с известными координатами. По полученным координатам точек измерени и соответствующим частотам колебаний струны в каждой точке воспроизвод т картину течени .
