Abstract

This invention relates to a marine hydrotechnical structure designed to protect the moles against sediment deposition. The purpose of the invention is to reduce the stagnation process by increasing the speed of the water stream. The device for protecting the incoming angle between pier 1 and shore 2 from being carried by sediments is made in the form of two screens 3 connected to supports 5 located on both sides of the entrance angle bisector and forming an acute angle in plan with each other. The top of this angle lies in the area of sediment accumulation 4. One of the screens ends up to the wave breaking zone, and the second one is behind the first wave breaking zone. The height of the screens exceeds the height of the calculated wave in the zone of the first wave breaking. The screens increase the wave height as it moves along them due to a decrease in the wave front, which leads to an increase in the water flow velocity in the area of accumulation of sediments. As a result, sediments do not accumulate in one area, but are distributed along an underwater slope. 2 Il.
