Сердечник магнитной головки собран из незамкнутых пластин 1 с высокой магнитной проницаемостью, между которыми размещены немагнитные прокладки 2. Вокруг сердечника размещены две катущки 3, на которые подаетс  записываемый электрический сигнал. В задней части сердечника имеетс  цилиндрическа  выточка, в которой вращаетс  цилиндрическое колесо 4 с  рмом из ферромагнитных пластин 5, закрепленных на поверхности колеса. Пластины 5 размещены по дуге окружности колеса на рассто ни х, обеспечивающих нахождение в зоне сердечника магнитной головки в любой момент времени только одной пластины 5. Толщина пластины 5 выбираетс  из того расчета, чтобы она была меньше суммы толщин немагнитной прокладки 2 и пластины 1 сердечника. Это условие обеспечивает при вращении колеса 4 замыкание  рмом только одной пары пластин сердечника, а потому при подаче электрического сигнала на катушки 3 магнитна  лента 6 будет намагничиватьс  не по всему зазоThe core of the magnetic head is assembled from unclosed plates 1 with high magnetic permeability, between which non-magnetic spacers 2 are placed.
