Description

Instruments for examining the periphery of the fundus, made in the form of a mirror gonioscopic contact lens, are known.

г -г гThe proposed device differs from those known in that the Young is provided with an additional collecting lens with high refraction, which provides a close to parallel direction of the beam of rays emanating from the eye under study. Such a device allows the device to perform an ophthalmoscopic examination of the extreme periphery of the fundus of the eye.

The drawing shows a diagram of the proposed device.

The device consists of an optical part and a metal rim. The optical part has the shape of a truncated cone /, the larger base of which rests on the cylinder. From the side of the smaller base in the cone, a spherical recess is shaped according to the shape of the eye block 2H. On the side surface of the truncated cone, two flat surfaces, which are located opposite each other, are ground at an angle of 60 ° to the base of the cylinder. These surfaces are mirrors and it is advisable (but not necessary) to cover them with silver amalgam.

The surface of the cylinder base is also flat ground and a flat convex collecting lens 5 with high refraction is glued against one of the side mirror planes.

The shape of the metal frame 4, inside which the optical part is fixed, corresponds to the shape of the latter and has a spherical rim 5 on the bottom. A recess in the optical part and a spherical rim of the rim correspond to the shape of the anterior eye block of the rays in the device shown in the drawing.

Outgoing from the extreme periphery of the fundus of the eye, the rays pass through the pupil of the cornea adjacent to the limbus, a thin layer of tear filling the slit-like space between the cornea and the adjacent cornea.
