Это достигаетс  тем, что в способе продольного гофрировани  бумажного полотна, включающем ступенчатое формирование полотна путем прот гивани  через формирующие элементы валов 1 и 2 с профилем гофров, измен ющимс  до заданного с одновременным уменьшением высоты и шага гофров до заданных, число гофров в каждой последующей ступени увеличиваетс  в нечетное число раз, например в три раза, причем верщины гофров, образовавшихс  на предьщущей ступени I, не измен ют своего первоначального направлени  на каждой из последующих ступеней II, III. 3 ил.
