The invention relates to the production of titanium dioxide pigment by sulfuric acid technology and can be used in non-ferrous metallurgy. The aim of the invention is to increase the productivity of the reduction process of ferric iron ions and improve environmental protection. The method of obtaining titanium dioxide pigment involves sulphation of an ль lmenite concentrate, leaching of the sulphation product, and introducing into the solution a reducing ferric ion - an activated metallic titanium, and its activation is carried out with gaseous hydrogen at 150–250 ° C for 0.5–2 , 0 h, reduction of ferric ions, hydrolysis of a IT-containing solution with a-; the next separation and calcining the precipitate obtained. The invention makes it possible to increase the productivity of the process of reducing ferric ions by 1.5–2 times, to reduce the amount of acidic, difficult to dispose of effluent by reducing the amount of sulfuric acid used, while retaining the mole of the technical characteristics of the pygmy. 1 tab. The invention relates to the production of titanium dioxide pigment by sulfuric acid technology and can be used in ferrous metallurgy.
The purpose of the invention is to increase the productivity of the process of reducing ferric ion ions and improving environmental protection.
Example 1. In the heated: quartz reactor with a diameter of 100 mm load 200 g of titanium chips, pre-washed from lubricants with a soap solution. Then the reactor is heated to 150 ° C and hydrogen TV is supplied for 1.5 h.
After cooling, the activated titanium is loaded into a 5.0 liter reactor with a solution obtained after leaching the ilmenite concentrate. The solution contains 186 g / l titanium (in terms of T10), 42 and 63 g / l of iron sulfate (ill) and (I), respectively (in terms of iron), 370 g / l of sulfuric acid (in terms of monohydrate) and 20 g / l A1 / (304) h- The solution is heated to 60 ° C and the process is carried out with stirring until the reduction of Fe ions is obtained, which gives the appearance of 5-7 g / L of titanium ions (G -) -) in solution. . The obtained jJacor is hydrolyzed by boiling in the presence of 1% anatase nuclei.
The precipitate of metatitanic acid is washed with a 5% solution of H2SO4 and water, dried and calcined at 800 ° C for 30 minutes. The pigment is dispersed in an agate mortar for 40 minutes.
TiOi.The prepared pigment has low-tech characteristics at the level of these indicators for the pigment obtained in a known manner, namely the whiteness of 96.4-96.8%, the disintegrating ability of 1220-1260 and the oil absorption 29 g / 100 g of TiOi.
The table shows examples of the implementation of the method according to the supposed and known methods.
From the data presented in the table. It follows that the temperature is lower than 150 ° C, the activation time of metallic titanium less than 0.5 h does not provide the necessary activity of the reducing agent, and a rise in temperature above 250 ° C and a time longer than 2 hours does not significantly increase the activity of the reducing agent. The productivity of the reduction process is increased 1.5-2 times by increasing the activity of metallic titanium. This reduces the amount of acid waste that is difficult to dispose of, and titanium with a surface activated by hydrogen is used at room temperature, and the concentration of hydrogen is much lower than in titanium hydride and by a known method, which also contributes to the improvement of working conditions.
