Description

BASIC Auth. St. JN9 132224 describes a method for preparing a silicone fluid by condensing ethylene glycol with diethyl dihydroxysilane in the presence of a stericizing catalyst, for example, l-toluenesulfonic acid. A polymer with a molecular weight of 3623 and a heat resistance of 200 ° is obtained by heating for 10 hours and 350 ° by heating for 7 hours.

The proposed method for preparing a silicone fluid is that a solution of diethyl dihydroxy silane in n is introduced into preheated to 1170 ° C ethylene glycol. butyl alcohol. The reaction is carried out in the presence of g-toluenesulfonic acid.

400°.After the total amount of diethyl dihydroxy silane has been introduced, butyl alcohol is distilled off and the reaction mixture is heated at temperatures of 120, 140 and 150 °. The polymer thus obtained has a molecular weight of 5410 and is heat-resistant when heated for 24 hours. at a temperature of 400 °.

5410.Example. 0.13 g of p-toluenesulfonic acid was added to 8.1 g of ethylene glycol, the mixture was heated to 117 ° and a solution of 17.56 g (0.13 g-oo) was started to drop (at 60 drops per minute) to it ./d) diethyl dihydroxy silane (m.p. 95.7 °) in 60 ml n. butyl alcohol. After all the diethyl dihydroxy silane has been added, butanol is distilled off and the reaction mixture is heated for 1.5 hours at 120 °, for 2.5 hours at 140 ° and for 4 hours at 150 °. The condensation product of ethylene glycol thus obtained with the organosilicon monomer is a light yellow, transparent liquid that does not change its viscosity and transparency when heated for 400 hours at 400 °. The molecular weight of the product is 5410.
