Description
The invention relates to non-destructive testing and can be decomposed for flaw detection of rolled metal at metallurgical and machine-building enterprises.
The aim of the invention is to increase the reliability of: detection of defects.
FIG. 1 shows a diagram of the acoustic path and the device implementing the method; in fig. 2 - time sequence of received ultrasonic pulses.
A device for implementing the proposed method contains a combined piezoelectric transducer 1. connected to a high-frequency generator 2 and to the input of an amplifier 3. The output of an amplifier 3 is connected in parallel to amplitudes by time discriminators 4-6, the control inputs of which are connected to the outputs of gates 7-9 generators respectively. The amplitude-temporal discriminator breaths 4-6 are connected to the inputs of the recorder 10. The second output of the high-frequency generator 2 is connected to serially-connected generators 7-9 of gating pulses.
The essence of the invention is that the amplitude of the echo signal from the defect in the time interval between the first and second bottom pulses depends on the quality of the acoustic contact between the transducer and the object being monitored to the same extent as the amplitude of the first bottom pulse.
The method is carried out as follows.
The combined transducer 1, excited from the high-frequency generator 2, emits a pulse of ultrasonic vibrations in the immersion version of the sound through the fluid layer 11 into the controlled product 12. If there is an internal defect in it from the transducer 1, the next pulse sequence comes to the amplifier 3 (Fig. 2) : probe pulse 14 echo signal 15 from the front face of the test item 12, echo pulse 16 from the defect, 13, first echo pulse 17 from the bottom of the test item 12, echo pulse 18 from the defect 13, echo pulse

13 is located near the surface of the product 12, the echo pulse 16 is masked by the echo signal 15 from the front face of the product 12. The echo signal 18 can be masked by the first bottom echo pulse 17, but the echo pulse 19 comes before the second echo pulse 20 and is confidently recorded. At the same time, the dead zone is significantly reduced. Echo pulses amplified by amplifier 3 are fed to amplitude-time discriminators 4. and 5, the thresholds of which are set depending on

Выделенные временным дискриминатором 6, управл емым генератором строб-импульсов 9, импульсы во временном промежутке 23 поступают в per4 and .5 arrive at the input of the recorder 10. Dedicated by the time discriminator 6, controlled by the strobe pulse generator 9, the pulses in time interval 23 arrive at per
При этом о наличии дефекта в издеЛИИ суд т совместно по амплитуде эхоимпульса во временном промежутке 21, по амплитуде первого эхосигнала от дна издели , вьщеленного во временном промежутке 22., и величинеa horn 10, where they are divided by the amplitude of the first bottom pulse and the comparison of the magnitude of this ratio with the corresponding threshold level, the value of which is determined by the required control sensitivity. An excess of the ratio value of the threshold level is indicative of a defect. At the same time, the presence of a defect in the product is judged jointly by the amplitude of the echo impulse in time interval 21, by the amplitude of the first echo signal from the bottom of the product, allotted in time interval 22, and

Thus, this method of ultrasound control allows

Дополнительна ре- гистради отношени амплитуды эхоим- пульсов во втором временном промежутке между первым и вторым эхоимпульсами , отраженными от дна издели , к амплитуде первого донного сигнала позвол ет исключить вли ние качества акустического контакта на результаты контрол , что повьшает его достоверность .the front face and the bottom of the product in the immersion version, well scattering or gross defects, occurring anywhere in the thickness of the product, to reduce the amplitude of the first bottom signal. An additional record of the ratio of the amplitude of the echo pulses in the second time interval between the first and second echo pulses reflected from the bottom of the product to the amplitude of the first bottom signal eliminates the influence of the quality of the acoustic contact on the control results, which increases its reliability.
