Description

DEVICE FOR MEASURING THE DIFFERENCE OF TEMPERATURE

On March 26, 1960, No. 661746/26, to the Committee for Inventions and Discoveries at the Council of Ministers of the USSR

Published to "Bulletin of the invention L 2.3 for I960

The method used to determine the thermal power of heating or refrigeration units such as heaters, devices for air cooling of electric machines, radiators, etc., consists in separating the temperature field of the gas flow on the inlet and outlet of the heat exchanger with subsequent 1e: false calculation of the desired characteristic as a function of the temperature difference obtained by averaging the field over the cross section of the input and output channels. This method requires the technical determination of the temperature field, which is associated with the need to use a large number of temperature meters dispersed over the control section, especially in the case when it is not very large.

These drawbacks of the existing methods are to a certain extent known in the described device for measuring temperature difference. The temperature difference averaged over the inlet and outlet sections is determined by means of two resistance thermometers, made in the form of -nets and installed in the inlet and outlet sections of the source or heat sink. Thermometers are matched to the bridge circuit through adjustable known resistance, installed in series with the arm, located at a lower temperature. The equilibrium of the bridge, disturbed by the inequality of the gas temperature at the inlet and at the outlet when the gas moves through the measurement object, is restored by means of an adjustable calibrated resistance. The value of the ratio of the latter to the resistance of one grid in the cold state, divided by the temperature coefficient of the metal of the grids, represents the desired average temperature difference of the gas.

СРЕДЫMEDIUM

134054- 2 of the invention

A device for measuring the temperature difference of the medium, containing two resistance thermometers, one of which is installed at the inlet and the other at the output section of the source or heat absorber, characterized in that, in order to determine the average value of the temperature difference, the resistance thermometers are shaped into grids.
