5This invention relates to the field of analytical chemistry and may find application in uranium chemistry and technology. The aim of the invention is to improve the accuracy of uranium determination. The electrolyte for coulometric determination of uranium on a platinum electrode contains nitric acid, lead salt, and sulfamic acid at the following component concentrations: nitric acid from 0.3 to 3M; sulfamic acid from 0.01 to 0.1 M; lead (II) salt from up to 5-10 M; water the rest. The electrolyte allows for precision measurements with an accuracy of no more than 0.05%, measurements from highly acidic NCO3 solutions without interference from oxygen evolution. The advantage is also that lead (I I) ions. do not interfere with the selective determination of other ions accompanying uranium. 1 tab. l so oo ate 00 P5

The purpose of the invention is to improve the accuracy of determination of uranium
Example. The determination of uranium is carried out by introducing into the coulometric cell a suspended sample of a solution of uranium 1-2 g, which is then diluted with a prepared electrolyte to a volume of about 20 ml, after which the electrolysis is carried out

Dp of reducing the error introduced by the background current is carried out by pre-electrolysis at potentials preceding the reduction of uranium. The results of the coulometric determination of uranium on a platinum electrode in a nitrate electrolyte are presented in the table

The electrolyte for coulometric determination of uranium on a platinum electrode allows precision measurements with an accuracy of no more than 0.05% of measurements from strong acid HNOj solutions without interfering with hydrogen evolution. The use of nitric acid solutions as electrolyte for determining uranium was not previously known because of the low efficiency of the uranium (VI) reduction current in the absence
Npions that block hydrogen adsorption and do not interfere with uranium reduction. The advantage of electrolyte is that lead (II) ions do not interfere with the selective determination of other ions accompanying uranium, such as Fe, Pu or Np
Важным свойством электролита вл етс высока химическа стойкость в нем платиновых электродов в анодной области, что позвол ет производить их периодическую активацию без смены электролита„An important property of an electrolyte is the high chemical resistance of platinum electrodes in it in the anode region, which allows their periodic activation without changing the electrolyte.
The lower limit of the concentration of nitric acid is due to the need to eliminate the hydrolysis of certain ions. which may be present in the analyzed solution and the shift of the uranyl reduction potential to the cathode region with a decrease in the acid concentration. When the concentration of nitric acid exceeds 3.0 M, the stability of uranium (IV) decreases and there is a danger of
автокаталитической реакции его окислени .autocatalytic reaction of its oxidation.
Интервал значений концентраций сульфаминовой кислоты обусловлен количеством нитрит-ионов, которые образуютс в услови х осуществлени определени „The range of sulfamic acid concentration values is determined by the amount of nitrite ions, which are formed under the conditions of the implementation of the determination
