Abstract
The invention is intended to diagnose sensitivity disorders in humans with diseases of the nervous system and allows for improved measurement accuracy by providing the ability to assess discriminatory sensitivity. The device contains generators 1 and 4, modulator 2, amplifier 3, contact element 5, control unit 6, meters 7, 8 and 9, source 10, switching elements 11 and 12, electrode 13 with needle contacts and switch 14. From generators 1 and 4 on the electrode 13 serves a linearly increasing in time sequence of testing pulses of rectangular shape. Sensing the impact of the irritant, the patient presses element 5. Measuring instrument 7 fixes the current corresponding to the sensitivity threshold. With a further increase in the amplitude of the pulses, a sensation of pain appears, which is recorded in a similar way. The magnitude of the current is recorded by the gauge 8 and corresponds to the pain threshold. Switching elements 11 and 12 connect source 10 to modulator 2, and meter 7 connects to amplifier 3. Electrode 13, alternately, through switch .14 serves an annoying current less than the pain threshold current, but greater than the sensitivity threshold, controlled by its meter 7. The moment when the patient feels two tactile irritations determines the threshold of discrimination. The invention is additional to the author. St. No. 605603. 1 Il. cl
