Description
The invention relates to agriculture, namely to the field of plant breeding.
The purpose of the invention is to increase the productivity under conditions of the mass inclusion of the initial varieties in the selection process with limited seed material and acreage.
Example. Separate ears of wheat varieties studied every 3-4 days before the onset of wax ripeness is treated with a 0.05 M solution of potassium chloride. Grains harvested in the full ripeness phase are ground and the content of water-soluble proteins (Lowry) in the flour is determined.
The need for processing ears at the beginning of the grain loading phase (i.e., at the beginning of the milky-wax ripeness stage) is due to a purely biological factor: it is during this period that membrane-bound protein synthesis systems are most active in the seed cells.
The concentration range of an aqueous solution of potassium chloride is selected from the condition that the ionic strength of this solution is sufficient to neutralize the electrostatic interaction of the membranes and the polis (concentrations of potassium chloride below 0.05 M do not provide dissociation, and above 0.1 M cause side effects such as grain, until death cells).
Making a high protein judgment on protein content in the water soluble fraction is related to the fact that the definition of this indicator is the most

более простым и доступным дл любых биохимических лабораторий и в то же врем достаточно представительным, так как снижение концентрации белка после обработки колосьев хлористым калием наблюдаетс во всех белковых фракци х пшеничного зерна.more simple and accessible to any biochemical laboratories and at the same time quite representative, since a decrease in the protein concentration after treatment of the ears with potassium chloride is observed in all protein fractions of wheat grain.
The results are shown in the table.
The data presented in the table show that, in high-protein wheat varieties, a decrease in the content of water-soluble protein is observed when the ears are treated with a KC1 solution compared to the control (untreated ears). For example, such varieties of wheat as KM 4743, Ukrainka 246. Kinka, Hokurico, F - 54 - 70, after treatment of the ears with a solution of potassium chloride reduced the content of water-soluble protein compared to the control (untreated ears). These varieties are high protein.
In other varieties, the difference in the content of water-soluble protein in the experimental and control seeds was positive.
A decrease in the protein of the water-soluble fraction after treatment with potassium chloride indicates a genetically determined sign of high protein.
The sign of the high protein content of these varieties was confirmed by the results of the Kjeldahl protein determination carried out for three years.
As a result of the test, it was found that under normal conditions one treatment with potassium chloride with an optimal concentration of 0.05-0.1 M is sufficient.
